All About Market Mum

A little bit about me and why I do what I do...

I thought I should explain why I am here and what I'm all about. Bascially I wanted to earn somemoney from home, without having to sell anything or buyinto products I had no idea about. Firstly my husband and I thought we would buy an investment property, as we wanted some extra cashflow, and also have something for our outlay of money. After looking around for endless weeks, researching areas, we couldn't really find one we were happy with. I did some searching on the internet and came across a site call 21st Century Academy. They were offering a free dvd, so I thought 'why not'. The dvd came about a week later, and in all honesty I had forgotton I had even requested it! So I sat myself down and started to watch this amazing man, Jamie McIntyre, speak about wealth creation and how we are all potentially sitting on goldmines and how wealthy we could all be if we just put our minds to it. I had to see more! So I ordered the homestudy, which you can get to via the link on this page, and sat in wonder as I learned so many new and wonderful things. I had some Oxiana shares that I had bought at .26cents, about 3 years prior, which were now worth over $2.00, so I had a taste of what investing in the stockmarket was all about, but knew nothing of the strategies that could be done and the income gained! In November of 2005, I wrote my first covered calls, 11000 of them as that is how many shares I had, and low and behold, I get $1500.00 into my bank account the next day! Mine, all mine for me to spend, and I did nothing for it!! I was tickled pink as you can imagine!

Now it wasn't all rosy, let me tell you! Of course, with any new education, there are bound to be setbacks, losses even. When I first started with the selling insurance strategy, I made $6000 in the first two months! And, I got cocky! I had no real method of picking my stocks, other than prayer, and I made some silly trades, which ended up costing me BIGTIME! But, it was the best thing that ever happened to me as I learnt so much! I learnt, a). I needed some way of determining what stocks to pick, b). I needed rules and entry and exit strategies. So that if one trade was going against me, I had a backup plan of what to do, c). I needed some sort of trading diary so I knew what had made me pick a particular stock, so I could therefore learn from that trade, and finally I needed to rewire my mind. I was so focused on money, I had no real focus of what my real goals were.

Now, because I have a proven strategy, with entry and exit signals, it has really taken the stress out of trading, and largely the emotion, so now if a trade is going against me, I don't freak out or get emotional, I simply follow my rules and monitor it and take action when required!

One large part of my success now is Technical Anaylsis. I would recommend that this is an essential part of trading. As you can see where a stock has been in the past, as well as spot any patterns that are evident. The course I did was by Nik Halik called Mastery of Stock Market Intelligence. I highly recommend it, it is easy to follow and its in dvd form so you can stop and test what you have learned. Plus it comes with a copy of the bourse software so you can begin testing what you have learned straight away!
